Mesotherapy

Mesotheraphy is a treatment method which dates back to very old times. It’s first described by Mr. Pistor in France in 1950.

Mesotheraph is essentially an alternative way of medicine and is not included in conventional medicine. The term mesotherapy is almost never mentioned in medicinal studies. Nevertheless, what is done while doing mesotheraph is basically injecting drugs or vitamin inkection under the skin, it’s actually an application that every doctor does everyday.   The only difference is, mixture rates of the drug or drugs given, where and to what extent it is given in what depth and rate and differences in injection techniques and experiences in this field. Mesotheraph today is generally used in diseases and problems that traditional medicine can not find a cure to. When there is no diagnostic, which means in situtations when there is no explanation as to why the patient has some symptoms, mesotheraphy is an another alternative.

The first phase in mesotheraph is diagnostics. First of all, all the illnesses should be researched that may lead to complaints. If there is an illness underlying, cures to that illness should be started and if need be, they should be combined with mesotheraphy.  So if there is a cure for that illness in medicine, it should be preferred first and if there is not a known solution, mesotheraphy should be preferred.

Mesotheraphy is mainly used in cosmetic medicine for cellulite, partial weight loss, hair loss and skin renewth.

Hair shedding in men is by %98 caused by what we call androgenetic alopesy which is hereditary. In this type of hair shedding the treatment is using ‘Finastreid’ which is 5 alpha reductase inhibitor for a long time and mesotheraph is useless. There is a %2 of other causes which may include cancer chemotheraphy, various inflammatory diseases, thyroid diseases and autoimmune diseases which may occur in both men and women. In men, if there is a such underlying disease, the treatment should be done in accordance with the disease.

Hair shedding in women may have very different reasons. Some of them are iron deficiency anemia, hyozincemia, thyroid illnesses, pregnancy, inflammatory diseases, polycystic ovary syndrome, menstruation, stress and autoimmune diseases. Before deciding about mesotheraphy for a woman, ıt is obligatory to do ultrasound and blood tests and research about these diseases. If there are no illnesses, mesotheraphy can be applied. Or it can be done along with the treatment of the real illness.

In scalp mesotheraphy vitamin, mineral, trace element,aminoacid, drugs which include enzymes and coenzymes and increase blood flow by vasodilatation, which are needed for normal hair growth, are used alone or together. The aim is to enhance nutrition of follicles and slow down the destruction of hair. There are ready mixtures include these drugs as well as various cocktails which can be prepared to the purpose. Total amount is about 5 to 10 cl. This mixture is given under the skin (dermis layer) with 4 nad 6 mm,30 Gauge thin injections at half a centimeter intervals and in very little (0,02 cl) amounts. For scalp, 50 to 150 injections are done. Or using napping technique, microinjections can be done on a very superficial level. It is a painful treatment and may not be tolerated by everyone. Whether during mesotheraphy or any other treatment including vitamins or drugs given into the skin, muscle or vein, there is a risk of anaphylactic shock or allergic reaction to the substance or substances given.

Altough one in a million chance, an allergic reaction may occur against the anaesthetic substance used during a simple tooth extraction  or suturing. This is not different from the reaction which may occur during mesotheraphy. Very little doses of penisilin given to the person to test his allergic reaction to a person who is allergic to penicilin may also cause allergic reactions. It is impossible to predict who has what kind of allergic reactions beforehand.  But if there is a known allergic history or a drug or substance that is known to be allergic to the person, it should be shared with the doctor before the treatment. Because it is done under the skin in very little amounts (like a test) the possibility of allergic reactions in mesotheraphy is much less compared to the direct enjections done ito the muscle or vein. However, it can’t be said that there is no risk.

In hair mesotheraphy two mixtures can be used:

  • First mixture is composed of following active ingredients:

HairCare = ‘Niacinamide + calcium pantothenate + pyridoxine + biotin + folic asit + cyanocobalamin + arginin + cystein + glutamine + glycin + ornithine + zincgluconat + sodium hydroxide’ + LIDOCAINE

  • Other mixture is composed of different drugs and it’s content is as follows:

Minoxidil + biotin + dexpantenol + pentoxifylline + procain’

Like all the other treatments in medicine, mesotheraphy doesn’t have a certainly accurate result. The results may change from person to person  or problem to problem. One of the most important factors affecting the treatment result is age. Success rate is especially low in elder women after menstruation . the treatment may be more difficult when hair shedding dates back a long time. Altough new hair may grow, after mesotheraph, it is also a success if the hair gets thicker.  It is impossible to increase the number of hair in someone who has genetilcally low density of hair. In such a person the hair may be made thicker by mesotheraphy. If the person’s hair is genetically thin, mesotheraphy can’t make them thicker. Maybe it can me made to look more alive. Because even weakening of hair without hair loss may cause gaps, generally the chance of getting good results after mesotheraphy is %70. Failure rate is around %30.
